Ready, Set, Go! Grant Program

The Ready, Set, Go! (RSG) grant program assists destinations in securing competitive sporting events that are not regularly held in Wisconsin and require an upfront financial commitment. The RSG fund has $110,000 per fiscal year available for matching grants.

Why You Should Apply

  • Competitive sporting events attract overnight visitors to your community, driving economic impact.
  • Hosting a major sporting event can raise a destination’s profile regionally, nationally and internationally.
  • Sporting events can provide a greater opportunity to generate significant media exposure for your destination and Wisconsin.

Guidelines

  • RSG grants are only open to Destination Marketing Organizations and Native American tribes
  • Eligible organizations can receive up to $30,000 in RSG funding each fiscal year. This can be for multiple events.
  • Amount available per destination/per request is 50% of a bid fee or 50% of other allowable site/venue/municipal fees, up to a maximum of $30,000.
  • This grant does NOT fund in-state events that are regularly scheduled or those that rotate destinations within the state.
  • Events that are currently funded through statutorily required expenditures (earmarks) are not eligible and those requesting this grant are not eligible for a Joint Effort Marketing grant for the same project, during the same fiscal year.
  • Applications must be received at least 90 days prior to the event.

Please see RSG Grant Guidelines document for complete grant requirements.
